Drawing inspiration from PJ Harvey, Angel Olsen, Ora Cogan, Cat Power, Adrianne Lenker and Sharon Van Etten, Milly’s music thrives on contrasts - light and dark, past and present, beauty and unease. “I’ve always been drawn to the idea of dichotomy - sinking into the depths of dark emotions while finding a way to resurface,” Milly shares. “My songs are filled with symbolism, strong imagery, and references to the past. Writing them has felt like both a psychological and emotional necessity.” Having captivated audiences in Melbourne’s underground, performing alongside The Slingers, Peter Bibby, Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys, and Queenie, the five-piece outfit is poised to cast the same spell on international stages.
