Veto Biography
A shared distaste for stereotypical hit-recipes and unpredictable retro-waves originally brought VETO together, soon deciding to ignore 'good advice' from the music industry and instead play what they felt like. This soon turned out to be the right approach.
With a mix of progressive rock and modern electronic elements, Veto has created a clearly defined soundscape which is rarely seen in such an untried band. With musical inspiration from such different bands as The Cure, M83 and Bloc Party, VETO has produced a number of stringent, but complex compositions that follow their own logic, in which there are no easy solutions dominating the mode of expression.
Both the voice of Troels Abrahamsen, which has been likened by reviewers to that of Jeff Buckley, and Veto's sharp and intelligent lyrical universe create an altogether incisive and relevant expression. Veto is the first rock-signing on TABU Records, which has previously focused exclusively on hiphop-releases. Despite the gap in genres the cooperation between TABU Records and Veto seems oddly obvious: the band and record company share an uncompromising approach to music.
