About this concert
A series of shows each Wednesday over November and December to help show our aroha and huge, humble support to our whānau over in Palestine who need daily kai, medical help, warmth and so much more. Many of us in Aotearoa have felt a sense of hopelessness and dread witnessing what is happening in Palestine where a whole culture is being destroyed before our very eyes. It's heart wrenching and we ask ourselves 'but what can I do?' so I decided to put my words into action by asking some incredibly kind and iconic musicians from Aotearoa to do what they do best. Perform, sing, make us laugh and cry with their musical stories in a safe and nurturing place with like-minded tangata katoa. May I present to you our shows Gigs For Gaza that will be performed every Wednesday at our wonderful friend’s eclectic-lose-yourself-inside antique store Junk & Disorderly. We are only selling 60 tickets for each show so we can share a small, hearty performance with ALL the money raised going to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) and Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (MSF). It's the absolute very least we can do. The tiniest seam. A drop in the Moana. But with gusto and determination.Join us and grab your tickets as fast as you can cos these shows will sell out and be remembered in years to come. We must help. We must act.NOV 5 – Tami Neilson & Milly TabakNOV 12 – Anika Moa & Jazmine MaryNOV 19 – Jon Toogood & TusekahNOV 26 – Reb Fountain & Tom CunliffeDEC 3 – TEEKS & Anna CoddingtonDEC 10 – Julia Deans & Louisa NicklinFood & beverages will be available each night. With thanks to the many people behind the scenes giving their time, especially the sound engineers and the team from The Production Co.WE STAND WITH PALESTINE.Arohatinonui Nā Anika Moa

reb fountain Biography

Reb Fountain is a premium New Zealand award-winning artist. Her Flying Nun debut Reb Fountain and sophomore IRIS were both released to critical acclaim with MOJO’s Martin Aston calling Reb, “New Zealand’s next alt-folk sensation” and Rolling Stone heralding, “it’s impossible not to be moved on this journey.”
Invoking a blend of folk, art-pop and rock unrivaled in Aotearoa, “her sound is genre defying, the set seamlessly transitions from songs that wouldn’t go amiss on a Bond soundtrack, to electro pop, to rock and folk but it flows in to one unmistakable sound.” (Subba-Cultcha)
Reb is renowned for her spell-binding live performances, unparalleled voice & magnetic on-stage presence. “Shaman-like, Fountain moves across the stage and through the various stages of herself to deliver these songs, devotionals. She and the band are not just world class performers, they might in fact be world-beaters.” (Off The Tracks)
After standout debut performances at Womadelaide and extensively touring in Europe with Marlon Williams, Fountain’s reputation for an exceptional live show has gone global. “Slinking around the stage like a cat, Reb is what would happen if Stevie Nick’s and Kate Bush were to collide, her folky punk sound and stage presence has the audience captivated.” (Music Crowns). "Reb is a revelation. I could have watched her show on any stage in the world and she would have deserved to be there. " (STUFF)
Look out for new music and performances from Reb in 2024/25.
