As a multi-genre/multi-hyphenated artist, A’Keen’s work has been featured on OperaWire, NPR, The New York Times, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution , and Dance Magazine. Most Recently, he served as creative associate and music director for SACRED SONGS, choreographed by Matthew Rushing for ALVIN AILEY AMERICAN THEATER's New York City Center Season and The Whitney Museum of American Art's Edges of Ailey Exhibition. Previously, Du’Bois served as Associate Director of Music and Programming at the Mama Foundation for the Arts and Co-led the commercial choir Sing Harlem. In addition to headlining the Sunday Gospel Brunch in Ginny’s Supper Club and Hosting Monday Soul Session at Red Rooster Harlem, With Sing Harlem, he directed the commercial choir and performed with stars like Andra Day for the Clooney Foundation for Justice Albie Awards and the Glamour Award's tribute for Mary J. Blige. For the past 15 years, A’Keen has served multiple ministries across the nation as Music Director, Choir Director, Praise Team Leader, and Creative Consultant.

Du’Bois started his career in NYC as a dancer, singer, and choreographer, touring with the Bessie Award-winning Urban Bush Women. He made his operatic debut as choreographer and guest artist for Charlie Parker’s Yardbird with Arizona Opera Company. In 2021, he returned to Yardbird as the director, choreographer, and principal performer for the Dayton Opera Company’s production. His accolades include being a 2018 NYTV Featured Artist, choreographer for Dance Squad on Fox Networks Group, and guest choreographer for Opera On Tap. A significant milestone in Du’Bois’ career was the premiere of his first feature-length film, DWB (Driving While Black), starring Grammy Award Winning Opera soprano Karen Slack. The film was commissioned by UrbanArias and produced by his company, A'KEEN BRAND. In 2025, A’Keen released his Debut Album, SACRED SONGS SUITE, along with three singles: FALLING…, STILL SKIES, and LOVE ETERNAL.
