He has been playing DJ sets at yearly meetings such as Shambhala, Diversity Festival, Luminosity Gathering, Motion Notion, The Field and more. He is now a curator and promoter of recent events such as Living Spheres, Inflorescence, Mythodical and Silhouette. Matsya lives on Salt Spring Island, DJs, facilitates contact improvisation and grows food. His timely selections, diversity in tempos and variance in styles and shades from complete darkness to blinding light is what makes Matsya’s sets unique and tastefully unpredictable. 9:00p to 10:00p: BOOM HUMAN - Big, sexy bass, augmented live - Toronto/San Francisco, Burning Man https://soundcloud.com/boom-human Boom Human mixes and rearranges future bass, psydub, tribal and other sexy sounds and accompanies with a modified 10-string Chapman Stick – which he uses to play synth bass and other sounds live. Boom has been a musician for 30 years. He has composed soundtracks for radio, TV and film. He has performed across North America at clubs, festivals and other events on the east and west coasts. He has played Burning Man art cars and Esplanade sound stages since 2013 and has appeared with acts like Desert Dwellers, Delhi2Dublin, Kaminanda, Deya Dova and Beats Antique. 10:00p to 11:30p: GEO - House, techno, indie dance, nu-disco - Unison, Friends and Family, The Ambient Mafia, Space Cowboys, The Rhythm Society, 3 Degrees https://soundcloud.com/geo-dj A long time fan of disco, dub, electronic music, funk, hip-hop, and new wave, Geo got his start in the San Francisco underground electronic music scene. In 1998, he began performing under the name Stardragon, filling chill spaces with a collage of ambient dub, acid jazz, trip-hop, glitch-hop, world music, and ambient trance. Later, performing as Star-D, he moved onto the dance floor, spinning breaks and house with a progressive and funky feel. Today Geo weaves many styles of house: deep, progressive, melodic, and tech, together with techno, indie dance, and nu-disco. Dance floor. Full bar. Food menu. $10 at the door. Legion members free.
