Idioteque__uk Biography
With an ear for all things dark, atmospheric and bass-driven, Idioteque has quickly been proving himself as a promising artist that you should keep firmly on your radar. Currently residing in London, he has largely been focusing on a sonic palette within the realm trip-hop and alternative rock, while previously gaining recognition in the world of Dubstep / 140 BPM.
As of November 2022, his EP ‘Keeping You Alive = Killing Me More' is worlds away from any previous releases and features vocals from the well- established Sheba Q on 'Wrong Turns In Odyssey', and new talent Isa Sin on 'Richie Aprile'. It also features a moving spoken word piece by enigmatic friend Toulouse, 'Seaview 9’.
Following the release of “KYA=KMM”, Idioteque returned with the mysterious “Offering”. The track features lyrics and vocals by emerging US talent Swan Diver, who released his own debut single in 2023. “The track grabs the listener’s hand, dragging you up into a hazy, haunting world.” - Liz Foster (Sparky). This release was followed by the thought provoking "Brand New Page", which introduced the powerful Reptile B into the fold.
“Stylet” is the latest blistering single from the individual, in collaboration
with Turkish-born vocalist Bâlâ. A trip-hop / alternative rock hybrid, the
track explores a further evolution in Idioteque's eclectic sound, moving into a bolder and heavier realm of vast, building waves of musicality and emotion. The title taken from the anatomical name of a wasp’s stinger – derives
its lyrical themes from the feelings of suffering with anxiety disorder. This composition explores new possibilities of building an atmosphere, a quality which Idioteque works obsessively into his live shows, along
with a growing collective of featured artists who make this project a unique and evolving experience, both in the studio and on stage. This single is the next step in the formation of this exciting and innovative artist journey, with much more boundary-pushing, genre-bending exploration to come.
Idioteque's recent output has gained attention worldwide, with singles "Richie Aprile" and “Stylet” in particular being featured on a healthy list of notable editorial and curator playlists.
