MAR SANCHEZ Biography
Mar Sánchez is a Spanish guitarist and composer with 30 years of experience in music—not because she's older, but because she started her musical journey at a very young age, at just 5 years old. Her unique style blends flamenco, classical music, blues, and jazz.
In 2024, she toured the United States as a special guest of the Cuban band Cimafunk and recorded her first solo guitar album in Boston, which will be released in early 2025.
This year, she begins her first solo tour, presenting original compositions that highlight her unique, intimate, and emotional style.
She has collaborated with artists such as Raimundo Amador, and Alain Pérez, and has participated in international festivals including Glastonbury, Jazzaldia, the Leo Brouwer Chamber Music Festival in Havana, Cuba, Newport Jazz Fest (2024, USA), Outside Lands (2024, San Francisco, California), House of Blues (2024, Chicago, USA), Washington D.C. Jazz Fest (2024, Washington, USA), Blue Note Black Radio Experience (2024, Napa, California, USA), and Intersection Festival (2024, St. Louis, Missouri, USA).
