Violet Crimes

Hailing from Burlington, Vermont, female-fronted Violet Crimes fuses punk rock and melodic hardcore, earning fans with their driving, hard-hitting rhythms, and ear-catching hooks. Drawing inspiration from old school influences like Descendents/All, Dag Nasty, and Off, they’ve also drawn comparisons to Hüsker Dü, The Gits and Naked Aggression.

The band’s feminist anthem “Ledbetter” was featured on Liberty or Death Record’s 2023 compilation “Women in Punk.” In spring 2024, between a full calendar of live shows around New England, they recorded and released Fighting Words, a six-song EP that Seven Days independent weekly called “a powerful record that is full of rage and yet somehow simultaneously retains—for lack of better term—fun."
