Ben Sures

Ben Sures is a very funny storytelling singer/songwriters great lyrics, stories and songs about everything from Rayguns to tropical fish to cooking and heartbreak. He will make you laugh and make you cry. Audiences love his stories, songs and his amazing acoustic guitar playing which is an amalgam of Folk,Blues, African and roots styles of music.
2005 winner of the John Lennon songwriting contest in the folk category (out of 15 000 entrants) . He has performed at many of Canada's folk festivals and has been featured on CBC Radio. He has turned coast to coast for over two decades and performed in the UK, Mexico and Lebanon.

An exceptional guitar player, Sures is a student of many of the greats and his playing echoes the sounds of Mali, Django Reinhardt, Gurf Morlix and Neil Young

Add in the golden years of The Winnipeg Folk Festival where Ben learned how to entertain an audience from the likes of James Keeelaghan and Taj Mahal and you have a talent that children, teens. brooding 20 year olds, baby boomers and old folkies love! He speaks with all of them in mind.

Ben has 10 albums available on all streaming platforms. He is the 2022 recipient of The Faith Nolan Award for Music, a past cast member of the hit CBC Radio show 'The Irrelevant Show' where he contributed funny songs.
