About this concert
British musician Lucy Rose returns to the stage with a new chapter of music shaped by resilience and creativity. Following the success of her critically acclaimed third album, ‘No Words Left’ (released in 2019) culminated in a sold-out show at London’s Barbican; Lucy’s passion for live performance is stronger than ever. Her latest album, ‘This Ain’t the Way You Go Out’, marks a fresh approach to songwriting, inspired by a spontaneous trip to New York to work with rapper and producer Logic. Back in England, she embraced the energy of live performance, recording the album live with trusted musicians at Paul Weller’s studio in Surrey. Now, Lucy Rose brings her intimate, emotionally charged show to The Glasshouse, offering a captivating performance that reflects her renewed creative spirit. Plus special guest Margaret Glaspy Margaret Glaspy is an acclaimed singer-songwriter whose raw sensitivity and razor-sharp insight have established her as a major voice in indie rock. Originally from Northern California, she’s released critically praised albums including Echo The Diamond, which drew attention from The New York Times, NPR, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone. Her latest project, The Golden Heart Protector, features seven reimagined covers with collaborations including Norah Jones, James Bay, Andrew Bird, and Julian Lage. Her single “Act Natural” reached the top 20 at AAA Radio, marking her highest chart position to date. Glaspy’s emotionally charged performances continue to captivate audiences worldwide.

This is what live music is about , superb musicians playing tightly with passion and energy . My first time at Lafayette though a regular gig goer. Perfect sized venue ( 500 - 600 capacity ) , friendly staff and good sound system / mixer / acoustics.

Margaret Glaspy Biography

The third full-length from Margaret Glaspy, Echo The Diamond emerged from a deliberate stripping-away of artifice to reveal life for all its harsh truths and ineffable beauty. “This record came from trying to meet life on life’s terms, instead of looking for a happy ending in everything,” says the New York-based musician. “The whole experience of creating it felt like effortless catharsis.”

Produced by Glaspy with co-production from her partner, Julian Lage, Echo The Diamond expands on the frenetic vitality of her 2016 release Emotions and Math. She was joined in the studio by drummer/percussionist David King (The Bad Plus) and bassist Chris Morrissey. Anchored in the raw yet mesmerizing vocal presence and impressionistic guitar work she’s brought to the stage in touring with the likes of Spoon and Wilco, Echo The Diamond holds entirely true to the spirit of its lyrical explorations, presenting a selection of songs both unvarnished and revelatory.
