THESAURUS REX Biography
Thesaurus Rex is a Brooklyn based indie rock band/conceptual performance experiment. The group was started in 2021 by writer/singer/improv-comic Calvin Rezen with the help of Berklee classmate, Varun Jhunjhunwalla on lead guitar, audio engineer and session drummer Dan MacDonald, and jazz virtuoso Ethan Marsh on the bass. They've been growing a loyal organic following in NYC over the last years and have played alongside bands like Tim Kasher, Schur, Boys Go to Jupiter, Spilly Cave, Henry Hall and Um, Jennifer at such venues as Brooklyn Made, The Sultan Room, Our Wicked Lady, Rockwood Music Hall, Mercury Lounge and many more. They were in the top 2 bands of Our Wicked Lady's annual 'Winter Madness' battle of the bands.
