Gorillaz

Saw Gorillaz on Sept 3rd after seeing the KONG studios exhibition on the 1st. Awesome first doodles of Noodle and the crew. Incredibly immersive studio, narration including. The gig was all new songs from a new phase - very exciting and spiritual. A DJ from De La Soul was the first set on the side followed by another cool DJ with really nice interesting beats. Jamiroquai and Khruangbin songs were heard. Damon Albarn in military wear. Jamie Hewlett came out at the end with all the band and some crew which was wonderful. Damon was thrown a Keffiyeh and wore it which won cheers of love and positive rage from the crowd. No old songs were played. Guy from IDLES had a song and a rapper had several, maybe only some of his own, but throughout brilliant flow and lyricism pertained. I feel powerful. The graphics were awesome, the whole band looks stunning. Kali was featured in Hewlett style. Quite wholly Eastern psychedelic inspired and justly. Sitar was heavily mixed in with horns and one specific wind instrument that flowed perfectly. Drummers were class and the bassists had lots of fun. Paul Simonon was pretty funny and the guy who said “ha” a lot. Singer in a golden shawl like dress was smooth like the ocean. Free Palestine.
