Ray Wroten

Ray Wroten has been performing professionally as a singer songwriter, DJ and master of ceremonies since 2005. He has played from coast to coast in the United States as well as Canada, and The US Virgin Islands. He's known for having a soulful voice, writing storytelling heartfelt lyrics, and a high energy live performance. With his ability to work professionally in many arenas he's been categorized as an all around entertainer

Wroten is most recognized for being the founding member, lead singer, and guitarist of Bond & Bentley, a national touring blues/funk/jam band from Baltimore. Since 2005 the band has released 4 LPs, an EP, and a live album. B&B has toured relentlessly playing 175 shows a year throughout North America. Although Wroten prefers writing music with the members of Bond & Bentley, throughout the years some of his songs didn't fit Bond & Bentley's style. In 2015 the artist made a decision to let some of these tracks see the light of day.

Ray's first solo effort "The Ostrich Syndrome" was released in January of 2016. The album is a mix of 12 acoustic and full band arrangements of the artist's singer-songwriter works. The album features many local Maryland musicians and has several guest appearances by current and former Bond & Bentley members. Wroten's pop sensible minor chord tonality gives the album an eclectic mode which runs the listener through minimalistic acoustic tracks and full band grooves. The album is easily digestible and ranges from fun funk arrangement to earnest introspective numbers.
