Dominican bachata artist Raulin Rodriguez "El Cacique" is one of the first major bachata artists to achieve international success. As a pioneer of bachata, he helped grow the genre's popularity in the 1990s with idealized romantic lyrics that widened the appeal of the genre, helping it get regular radio play. His international hits, including the songs: "Nereyda", "Medicina de Amor", "Soledad", Esta Noche, and many more. Three of them have been certified Platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Raulín Rodríguez Biography
Born in San Fernando de Monte Cristi, Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic on June 16, 1970,related to the Zapata family of Monte cristi is one of the first major bachata artists to have national success and popularize this style of music in his country. Born in the northwest coast of the island, he toured with Antony Santos as a guitar player at age fifteen, and then went on to own band.
