About this concert
Recently reunited thrashers GAMMACIDE are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their 1990 cult classic Victims of Science by going out on a sixteen city East Coast tour. The Toxic Thrash East Coast Invasion Tour 2025 will see GAMMACIDE pair up with fellow Texans THE BLACK MORIAH and spreading their own brand of corrosive metal all throughout the Eastern Seaboard. GAMMACIDE was formed in 1986 in Arlington TX by guitarists Rick Perry and Scott Shelby and vocalist Varnam Ponville. Their one and only scar on the metal scene came in the form of 1990's Victims of Science, one of the most violent thrash explosions ever captured on vinyl. At the time of its release, Victims of Science was praised by the worldwide underground press as well as Metal Forces, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, and more. For the next several years, GAMMACIDE was a terrorizing force amongst the Texas metal scene, and they shared the stage with many bands such as KREATOR, DARK ANGEL, EXODUS, MORBID ANGEL, DEATH, RIGOR MORTIS, WATCHTOWER, to name a few. Although GAMMACIDE disbanded in 1993, Victims of Science has has steadily gained a reputation among a new generation of thrashers who are spellbound by the albums raw, savage fury. In 2025, original members Rick, Scott and Varnam were joined by bassist Alan Bovee (WARBEAST) and drummer Joey "Blue" Gonzalez (WARBEAST, PHIL ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS) upon the request of the HELL'S HEROES FESTIVAL in Houston. GAMMACIDE's brutal set was a highlight of this years three-day metal fest, as many of the audience was surprised at the intensity of the band's performance. The band were so blown away by the rabid reaction they received that they decided this festival appearance was not going to be a one-off, which brings us to this tour. The Toxic Thrash East Coast Invasion Tour will bring GAMMACIDE's radioactive mayhem to many cities which they have NEVER played before. Diehard thrashers should look no further for a lethal dose of radiation from the GAMMA bomb. The symptoms of GAMMACIDE exposure are: bleeding from the ears, violent spasms of the neck muscles, and compulsive urge to jump in the pit. You have been warned, don't miss GAMMACIDE when they come to your town on the The Toxic Thrash East Coast Invasion Tour 2025!

Gammacide Biography

Gammacide were part of the massive wave of thrash bands that appeared near the end of the 80's and into the early nineties. Their approach was particularly frenzied and aggressive, though not really radically different from many of their peers, with their lyrics based in social/environmental issues of the day. Guitarist Rick Perry later decided to move in a different direction, forming the industrial metal band Puncture, while vocalist Varnam Ponville and guitarist Scott Shelby moved to Louisiana and eventually formed a band called Cauldron, releasing a 1997 album entitled For The Love Of Pain. The group did get together in 2004 to record two new tracks, that are now part of the CD re-release of their sole album, Victims Of Science.
