Big Mooky is playing a set at Slim’s on September 25th from 9-11pm! Durham-born and now Raleigh-based, Big Mooky (aka Macarthur Haviland) has carved out his own lane in independent music, running his label Snakepit Entertainment and building a sound that refuses to blend in. Pulling from Motown soul, golden-era boombap, and the mixtapes of artists like Mac Miller and Lil Wayne, Mooky describes his style as a mix of Mac Miller, Lil Peep, and Juice Wrld. He also takes influence from 80s horror and 90s pop culture. On stage, he delivers raw energy and unshakable authenticity, turning resilience into rhythm and struggle into anthems. Big Mooky is known for his love of his community and for driving uplifting connections through the art he creates.
