Solomon Fox

North Carolina-native Solomon Fox is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose left-of-center recordings combine funk-influenced grooves, lush vocal harmonies, and off-kilter lyrics.

Fox first began writing songs at age 9 on his parent’s upright piano, recording them into GarageBand alongside his brother Elijah Fox. Throughout his teenage years, Fox developed both as a writer and music producer, recording demos and selling CD’s at school. In high school at Durham School of the Arts, Fox started a hip-hop/soul-collective called Young Bull with his classmate Tahmique Cameron, touring across the country and opening for the likes of Masego, Anthony Hamilton, and Sylvan Esso. In 2021, Fox released his first project, Solomon, which received critical acclaim including a nod in NPR’s “Best Music of March” from All Songs Considered and a spot on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” and “Vanguard” playlists. In 2024, Fox broke through again with the viral songs “weird” and “you don’t cook,” receiving over 5 million views and attracting praise from the likes of Queen Latifah, Erykah Badu, Ty Dolla $ign, Ne-Yo, Willow and more. He is currently working on the follow up to these songs slated for release in the summer of 2024.
