The cover art, featuring a young Oliver in glasses and a striped jumper, reflects the album’s authenticity and rawness. Just as he began with a Commodore 64 and Atari ST, creating hip-hop beats before discovering electronic sounds, this project revisits the freshness of his early creative energy. The title’s ambiguity mirrors this balance between humor, honesty, and artistic reflection. Koletzki’s rise began with persistence. After moving from Brunswick to Berlin in 2000 to pursue his career, he endured years of waiting before his breakthrough came in 2005 with the release of “Der Mückenschwarm” on Sven Väth’s Cocoon label. The track made him an overnight sensation, earning him “Groove Magazine’s” Newcomer of the Year and gigs across Europe. His debut album “Get Wasted” solidified his underground reputation, while “Großstadtmärchen” revealed his pop sensibilities through collaborations with Mietze Katz and Axel Bosse. The hit “Hypnotized” with Fran propelled him into mainstream recognition, and extensive touring followed with his band The Koletzkis, taking him to festivals and clubs in nearly 40 countries. Beyond his own career, Koletzki’s impact expanded through his label, Stil vor Talent, founded in 2006. Initially a vehicle for his productions, it quickly grew into a platform for emerging talents like HVOB, Sascha Braemer, and David August, shaping the direction of modern melodic house. By 2012, Stil vor Talent had evolved into a full-scale label, booking, and management agency, while Koletzki also launched Light My Fire, a second label dedicated to EP-driven club tracks.
