About this concert
Bristol breakbeat legends return to the basement. Four hours of genre-defying bass music from the duo who've been pushing boundaries since '98.
Stanton Warriors return to Manchester this November for a proper session in Joshua Brooks' basement. The Bristol duo have been at this for 25+ years, and they're bringing that full weight to Princess Street.
Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley built their reputation on refusing to stay in one lane. From XL Recordings through to running Punks Music, they've pushed breakbeat into territories nobody else dared explore. Fabric Live 30 remains the best-selling mix in the series. Remix list reads like electronic music royalty – Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Basement Jaxx.
That Void Acoustics system in the basement is built for precisely this kind of pressure – four hours of their signature breakbeat bass sound, spanning UK garage, drum & bass, and whatever else they feel like throwing down.
The venue's seen them before, and those who were there know what's coming.
Fresh off summer festival runs at Glastonbury and Burning Man, with Stanton Sessions Vol. 5 still doing damage. This isn't nostalgia – it's current, vital, and heavy.
Limited capacity in the basement. Saturday afternoon into evening.
Heads know what to do.

Stanton Warriors Biography
“Stanton Warriors' Bring Me Down is pretty much the perfect garage beat. Everything about that song – the vocal line, the chords, the melody – is totally original.”
DISCLOSURE
“Oh my Gosh, SO good! This is the kind of music that makes you literally want to go mental on the nearest dancefloor. As tried and tested on my living room carpet!”
ANNIE MAC, BBC RADIO 1
"These two Bristol boys first charged, stormed and straight-up invaded the scene back in 2001 with a highly acclaimed debut compilation The Stanton Sessions and since then have continued to dominate and pillage every dance floor and pair of headphones that has come in their wake."
THUMP, VICE
“Stanton Warriors make bass music; intentionally vague, unpigeonholeable, brilliant bass music.”
NOISEY, VICE
“Their relevance and influence has grown with every year and their Stanton Sessions parties simply reaffirm their position atop the pedestal.”
MTV
“Stanton Warriors always deliver, this latest track just takes it to a whole other level.”
ZANE LOWE, BBC RADIO 1
Since bursting onto the scene with their multi award-winning compilation The Stanton Sessions back in 2001, Stanton Warriors’ irresistible and inimitable sound has consistently remained the soundtrack to some of the world’s biggest and best parties over the past fifteen years; from East London warehouses, Miami boat parties and illegal Detroit raves, to the stages of Glastonbury, Exit, Burning Man, Ultra and Coachella; selling out global tours and topping DJ lists along the way.
In the studio, Bristol’s Mark Yardley and Dominic Butler have honed a trademark, un-categorisable sound that is at once all their own, but also utterly indefinable; leading to high-profile releases on XL Records, Fabric, Cheap Thrills and Universal, alongside official remixes for everyone from Daft Punk to MIA and Fatboy Slim. This phenomenal output and remarkable longevity, has ensured the Stanton Warriors legendary status amongst not only their fans, but also their peers, as they remain fresh, original and relevant; obstinately dancing to beat of their own drum and helping to pave the way for new talent.
In 2015, the Stanton Warriors topped Apple Music, iTunes and Beatport charts again with their 7th studio album Rebel Bass which features a host of collaborations including Chris Lorenzo & Kane's Dirtybird-signed Cause n Affect and Night Bass boss AC Slater who, along with Disclosure (see quote below), site the Stanton Warriors as a big influence on their sound. This combined with main stage slots at London's SW4, Glastonbury and Miami Ultra festivals were highlights of another years packed gig schedule.
On to 2016, and they typically show no sign of slowing down, with sold-out tours across the USA, UK, Europe and the Far East, playing to 25k+ crowds headlining the incredible fire-breathing-arachnid Arcadia stage at Glastonbury, Alrumbo festival in Spain and their return to Coachella. Combine that with propelling their record label Punks Music to being one of the most talked about stables in bass music, with over 25 artists and sell out events across the globe and you start to wonder....when the f**k do they sleep!
