This album marks the third volume of his acclaimed project “Jaime Lozano & The Familia: Songs by an Immigrant” with exciting new collaborations with Broadway and Latine artists. Lozano honestly portrays the challenges of the first- and second-generation middle class U.S. immigrant experience: finding a new home, learning a new language, dealing with discrimination, pursuing the American Dream, and searching for ways to build bridges instead of walls. Musical theatre composer Jaime Lozano has quickly established himself as “a force to be reckoned with in musical theater, in Latin music or wherever else he wants to go,” says Lin-Manuel Miranda. In his original songs that are showcased on his Songs by an Immigrant albums, Lozano authentically portrays the challenges that many first and second generation U.S. immigrants face. Those experiences include finding a new home, learning a new language, dealing with discrimination, pursuing the American Dream, and searching for ways to build bridges instead of walls. Songs by an Immigrant is more than a show or an album, it’s a statement about diversity, inclusion, and building bridges instead of walls. Guest artists to be announced soon. “Lozano has written some of the most interesting, relevant and delightful music I have heard in a long time.” - The Front Row Center “Jaime Lozano has made you a hell of a mosaic. If you’re an immigrant in the United States, you have to work ten times as hard just to reach the ground floor. There is the process of leaving your homeland, there is the journey, there is the dislocation of being in a new world, the culture shock of how that world sees you. Jaime honors that journey and breathes astonishing musical life into it on this album: he’s done ten times the work to bring you this mosaic.” - Lin-Manuel Miranda “Jaime Lozano is a thrilling new talent on the musical theater scene and if ‘Songs by an Immigrant’ is any indication, his will be a name we’ll be hearing from…in all languages…for many years to come.” - Splash Magazines “Where Jaime and The Familia go, love leads the way.” - Broadway World
