The most unique musical experience in my life, and a dream come true. I see a LOT of show, and this ranks as one of the most memorable. The band played these lovely but complicated tunes flawlessly and with enthusiasm. Magda as composer, arranger, and conductor was amazing. But Magda as singer and band leader is so charming, passionate about the music, and engaging that no one can help but get drawn into the moment. The entire experience was about as joyous an experience as I’ve had, and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. Truly still buzzing from it days later!

Banda Magda is the live expression of composer, arranger and performer Magdalini Giannikou. Magdalini was born in Greece, studied in Boston, spent an adventurous decade in New York and is now based in Valencia, Spain. Her favorite pastime is making something out of nothing. Her artistic identity is wrought by the several languages she speaks and studies, her cinematic approach to songwriting, her unique voice in orchestration, arranging and production as well as her love for interactive audience participation.
