Dayon

Dayon / Dayonikin is a Canadian artist whose music is as raw, versatile, and multifaceted as his life. Born on April 12, 2005, in Kitchener, Ontario, Dayon’s childhood was marked by trauma. At 12, he survived an attempt on his life by his mother, leading to his placement in foster care. At 15, his father finally won custody of him, but soon they faced eviction, & Dayon found himself couch-surfing in Kitchener. It was during this time he recorded his most personal songs, including "TELL" & "Holborn", inspired by an old relationship.

Dayon then moved to Hamilton & stayed with an artist named SJ, and together they formed the collective HXS, but after a discouraging meeting with an A&R, Dayon nearly gave up on music. But when his ex-girlfriend heard "TELL", she encouraged him to keep going. She moved in with him, and together they created a home at Prime Studios, where Dayon focused more on his sound.

Dayon blends melodic R&B, aggressive rap, and a variety of genres, from boom bap to dancehall. His music reflects his emotional journey and personal growth, offering listeners a chance to connect with his soul
