Slime City Biography

SLIME CITY come from Glasgow, Scotland and consist of three Michaels (ex-members of cult indie rock band WE ARE THE PHYSICS) playing fast, existentialist nerd rock for 'people who like both sighing and fighting'.

Following their debut single 'Less Jools More Top Of The Pops', a track about the gentrification of music, they released four DIY singles, including 'Dial-up Internet Is The Purest Internet', and 'You & Everybody That You Love Will One Day Die' (perhaps ironically called 'Sound of the summer' by BBC Radio 1 Scotland).

After sold out headline shows and tours with rock legends Mclusky and DIY icons Bis, they released their debut album 'SLIME CITY DEATH CLUB' in 2023, which peaked at number 5 in the Official Scottish Album Charts and it would've gone higher if it hadn't been for that Lewis Capaldi.

In 2025, they self-release their second album 'National Record of Achievement', with a number of pre-order incentives, including genuine copies of National Records of Achievement folders from the 1990s and working replicas of 'THE SHOE' - a synth built into a leather shoe (left) that the band play during their live shows.

"They sound like Dead Kennedys on a diet of Cardiacs and Life, a bit like those few great Sparks albums released around 1974" - Louder Than War
"They’re charismatic, they’re tremendous live, and they’ve tunes that bands hundreds – nay, thousands – of times their size would kill for." - Narc Magazine
"Songs that are as bold and brash as they are infectious and witty" - God Is In The TV
"Like Devo, if they had come from the Strathclyde Regional Council area" - Is This Music?
"Angular indie-pop bangers" - The Skinny
"Slime City's debut track is our new unofficial anthem" - Dork Magazine
"I don't think I like [this]" - Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran

FFO: Devo, Weezer, Brainiac, Art Brut, Sparks, Ash, Pulp, Cardiacs, Future of the Left
