Modular synth wizard and internet phenomenon Hainbach offers a glimpse into his musical universe with a talk and concert. A collaboration between Modular Synth Riot & STUK. PROGRAMME 20:00: doors 20:15: Hainbach (talk) 21:00: pause 21:15: Hainbach (concert) Based out of Berlin, electro-acoustic composer Hainbach creates experimental music that is both visceral and whimsical. Using esoteric synthesizers, test equipment and magnetic tape he creates “one hell of a trip” in his live sets and recorded music. He shares techniques on experimental music on his YouTube channel, which has attracted an ever growing audience of more than 200.000 subscribers and over 20 million views, with several videos going viral. His body of work includes film soundtracks, pop productions, chamber music, theater music, sound art installations and music software. Hainbach’s music has been featured in Pitchfork, The Wire, Bandcamp Daily, Bleep and Boomkat. At STUK, the composer will unveil his musical universe through a talk and concert.

Hainbach Biography

Based out of Berlin, Germany, electronic music composer and sound artist Hainbach creates shifting audio landscapes THE WIRE called "One hell of a trip". He has been fascinated with electronic sounds since he discovered the dial on the radio. Never losing his childhood wonder, he still searches for the sounds in between on uncommon electronic instruments, tape and test equipment, making even the “unmusical musical”.

Through his YouTube channel Hainbach brings experimental music techniques to a wider audience. He is an award winning film composer, and his compositions for ensembles have been featured at Witten, Gaudeamus and Impulsfestival Halle. His music software and hardware is used by musicians world-wide. He tours world wide regularly, from Berghain to Barbican. He has taught at Humboldt University, Manchester School of Arts, Hybrid Arts Lab Dresden, MRC Copenhagen, among others.
