“Precious Little Life reads like an emo band – named after the first installment of Brian Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series, a catalogue boasting a number of references to Nintendo games, bitcrushed screams, and twinkly riffs, one could be forgiven for classifying them as such. Precious Little Life, however, extends far beyond the borders of the genre, diving deep into unfathomably melodic noise pop. Fronted by Ivy Nenkov (they/she), the project has expanded beyond a bedroom-confined exercise in exploration to a fully-realized shape-shifting goliath of Philadelphia’s DIY underground.”
