MIGHTY HOPE Biography
Formed in 2020 around vocalist Rico, the band is defined by her powerful yet tender voice and a distinctive sound that transcends genre boundaries.
In 2021, they released their first EP Lonely Egg, followed by the 2022 EP Swallow and digital singles Hide and Seek and Vision.
July 2023 marked the beginning of the current lineup and the release of their first full-length album Root. The band successfully completed a Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka tour, was selected as Eggs’ “Monthly Push Artist” for July, and had their music video aired in Round1 locations nationwide.
In August 2024, following a member’s departure, they welcomed a support drummer and released their second EP THRRE.
Rico, a Japanese–Ghanaian vocalist, has lived her life as part of a minority in both appearance and experience. Through the band’s music and performances, she strives to create a space where people in less-understood positions can feel free and celebrated, spreading a message about the importance and value of individuality.
