Kento Tsubosaka Biography
Born in Yokohama, Kento Tsubosaka graduated from Keio University and landed a Berklee College of Music scholarship. He studied Jazz piano with Fumio Itabashi and Junko Onishi, as well as composition with Vadim Neselovskyi and Terence Blanchard.
In 2017, following an audition, he was selected for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute directed by Danilo Pérez. After his graduation, in 2019, he stayed in the USA, giving concerts, recording, composing music and producing arrangements for other artists.
He has performed with Paquito D’Rivera, Miguel Zenon, John Patitucci, Catherine Russell, Francisco Mera and Takuya Kuroda, among others.
He was forced to return to Japan during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today he lives in Tokyo, where he participates in numerous projects including Tamtam, an experimental pop group, and Soraya, with the singer Kina Ishikawa.
