About this concert
The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Riley Green to the Museum’s Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace for an evening discussing his latest album, Don't Mind If I Do, his creative process, and career with a special performance. Attendees will have an opportunity to enjoy rooftop views and a cash bar prior to the program.
CMA and ACM Award winner, Riley Green has been compelling Country music fans to raise a drink, shed a tear, and, above all, celebrate where they are from, since first releasing his self-titled EP in 2018. His songs like the No. 1 2X-PLATINUM hit “There Was This Girl,” the 3X-PLATINUM-certified heart-tugger “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” and his chart-topping collab with Thomas Rhett, “Half Of Me,” have made Riley synonymous with what Country Music does best: making listeners feel something with his no-gimmick, relatable writing and classic feel.
An avid sports fan, former athlete (Jacksonville State University quarterback) and outdoorsman, Riley is riding a wave of success after receiving four Academy of Country Music awards, being previously named a MusicRow Breakout Artist of the Year, a CMT “Listen Up Artist,” and one of CRS’s 2020 New Faces. Combs joined Riley on his third 2X-PLATINUM No. 1 single “Different ‘Round Here (Ft. Luke Combs),” the title track to Riley’s 2019 debut album that he re-recorded with Combs after seeing how fans connected to it.
The singer-songwriter’s third studio album, Don't Mind If I Do, produced by Dann Huff, arrived on his birthday, October 18, via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment, with more of the signature Riley Green fans have come to know and love from the good ol’ boy who still lives in his hometown of Jacksonville, AL. Currently on an incredible hot streak, Green’s well-earned confidence in his work shines through across the 18-track set with five of the tracks being solely written including standouts “Jesus Saves,” the 2X-PLATINUM “Worst Way” and the title track—which finds Green reuniting with his “you look like you love me” duet partner and recent tourmate Ella Langley. Green is currently on the road for his headlining Damn Country Music Tour, which finds him making stops in New York, Nashville, Chicago, and Boston, among many others. Riley is one of the best! Second only to Luke Combs, in the country music concert world. He is just a tremendous , humble performer and engages the crowd at a high level. Just an amazing show! …only downside is the York State Fair venue is a bit rough, a bit disorganized and event staff has little control over who sits where. Luckily there is a heavy police presence because the staff is overwhelmed at managing large crowds.

Riley Green Biography
Born in Jacksonville, Alabama, Riley Green was raised on the sounds of traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Southern Gospel music. He learned the spirit of songwriting and performing at a young age while spending time with his grandfather, Bufford Green, who ran the Golden Saw Music Hall. Riley shared the stage with him and other men of his generation, laying a foundation for the songs he’d craft in the years to come. His full-length debut album DIFFERENT ‘ROUND HERE was released in 2019 via BMLG Records and has produced GOLD-certified No. 1 hit “There Was This Girl” and GOLD-certified single “I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died” – a song People praised “might take him to a whole new stratosphere,” and one he shares co-writing credits posthumously alongside his two grandfathers. Highlighting his Southern roots and relatability, he co-wrote each track offering a perspective Rolling Stone describes as "Drinks-in-the-air Nineties country at an Alabama vs. Auburn tailgate." Named ACM’sNew Artist of the Year Green just announced his next EP IF IT WASN’T FOR TRUCKS will be released September11. Nominated for Best New Country Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards he was also voted as one of CRS’ 2020 New Faces and was named MusicRow’s Breakout Artist of the Year at their Country Breakout Awards. Green was also selected as a CMT “Listen Up Artist” and one of MusicRow’s 2019 “Next Big Things.” After 2019 on Brad Paisley’s 2019 WORLD TOUR, his own GET THAT MAN A BEER TOUR and Jon Pardi’s HEARTACHE MEDICATION TOUR he kicked off 2020 on Jason Aldean’s WE BACK TOUR through the Spring.
