About this concert
mylittlebrother return to The Brickyard for a special live show to celebrate the release of their brand-new album, Throwing Darts at Maps. Copies will be available on 12-inch vinyl, one week ahead of the official release date, marking the band’s first ever release in this format. This milestone gig offers fans the chance to hear new material live and take home the album early. Known for their distinctive blend of pop, rock, and psychedelia, mylittlebrother have built a devoted following across the UK. Their previous album, Howl, released on L.A.’s Big Stir Records, received critical acclaim. Their live performances, known for their captivating energy and rich harmonies, continue to solidify their reputation as a standout act. Over the past year, the band have been crafting their new record at Polestar Studios in Newcastle, working with Alex Blamire (Hector Gannet), while continuing to refine their live sound through extensive touring and festival appearances, including a headline slot at Wild on the Wall festival. The band have also earned support from BBC 6 Music’s Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson, with Robinson calling their single Nosedive “a worthy contender for record of the week.” Additional airplay has come from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, and stations across the UK. Hector Gannet Hector Gannet, described as “masters of a kind of new, modernist folk rock music”, take their name from an ill-fated trawler that sank in the North Sea under heroic circumstances in 1968. Hector Gannet have toured widely, including support slots with Sea Power, Lanterns on the Lake, Lindisfarne, Tom Robinson, and Peter Doherty. They’ve also completed two North American tours and, more recently, sold out the 500-capacity Sage Hall Two in Gateshead. This year, Hector Gannet supported Sam Fender at St James’ Park Stadium in Newcastle and were special guests with Elbow at Priory Castle in Tynemouth. They have just announced another sold-out 500-capacity show in their hometown of North Shields this November, where they will celebrate the release of a 12-inch limited edition single (which precedes a new album set for 2026). At this gig in Carlisle, they will be showcasing brand-new material with an added brass section.

Hector Gannet, from North Shields on Tyneside, are masters of a kind of new, modernist folk music, taking their name from an ill-fated trawler which sank in the North Sea under heroic circumstances in 1967. Hector Gannet’s musical incarnation began to draw attention when they wrote and performed music to accompany vintage footage of the North East heritage of shipbuilding and fishing as part of a project for the BFI, and a tour supporting Sam Fender soon followed. Hector Gannet has toured widely since, including support slots with Sea Power, Lanterns on The Lake, Peter Doherty and Kathryn Williams, plus two North American adventures and, more recently selling out Sage Hall Two in Gateshead. Hector Gannet’s second album, The Land Belongs To Us, was released to acclaim in 2023. MOJO awarded four stars: “Pointedly political, natural-world-advocating folk rock.” Uncut proclaimed “North Shields’ answer to Crazy Horse.”

Hector Gannet are now back in the studio preparing a forthcoming release for November, after a busy summer which seen the band playing a stadium gig with Sam Fender at St James Park Newcastle, a gig in a brewery with folk legends Lindisfarne, and also playing at Muncaster Castle as part of the superb boutique Krankenhaus festival curated by Sea Power in the Lake District.

Hector Gannet head out on their pre-winter ‘Last Smoke Before Sail’ tour in November 2023..
