About this concert
Enchanting evening in Hannover with Steinway Artist, multi-awarded pianist Joanna Sochacka in a special duo performance with pianist Anna Miernik for a Christmas concert featuring the most beloved Christmas classics and iconic melodies from Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Paderewski, Piazolla and Leontovych. Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, the enchanting ballet music captures the magic of Christmas with the famous Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Waltz of the Flowers.
The second section concludes Mykola Leontovych’s Carol of the Bells, one of the most renowned Christmas music worldwide, based on a Ukrainian folk chant. The encounter of two artists on one piano will amplify the sound and the melodies, a pure bliss for the audience.

She has performed so far in many countries (England, France, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Switzerland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Italy, Moldova, USA, Venezuela, Israel) in the most prestigious concert halls, including: Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, BeethovenHaus Concert Hall in Bonn, Ehrbar Saal in Vienna, National Forum of Music in Wrocław, National National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Ferenc Liszt Concert Hall in Raiding. Her debut CD with the piano music of polish female composer Grażyna Bacewicz (DUX 1689), a world phonographic premiere, was acclaimed by the global press, radio and television (,,one of the best new CD releases" of the Gramophone Magazine and PIANIST Magazine. Her CD with Frederic Chopin’s music recorded for Sheva Collection (SH 298) in Naxos distribution is already one year in the TOP Bestsellers list of the label ("Sochacka does the Chopin the best way ” - WTJU Virginia). She is a PhD, graduated from universities in Austria, Switzerland and Poland: Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz in the class of prof. Milana Chernyavska, Bacewicz University of Music in Łódź in the class of dr hab. Hanna Holeksa (PhD studies), Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow in the class of prof. Andrzej Pikul, Haute École de Musique de Genève in Geneva, in the class of prof. Fabrizio Chiovetta.
