Majorette Biography
“Sappy but snappy” is the promise of Queens based songwriter Danielle “Majorette” Salomon whose short melodic tunes have been known to cause deja vu. “A combination of nostalgia and wit” (Tom Gallo, Look at My Records!), Salomon's writing is dreamy and sentimental with a dash of drollery.
Initially a bedroom project consisting of demos recorded on her 1986 Yamaha PSS 270, collaboration with guitarist Eli Recht-Appel (Diamond Grinder, Cut Outs), bassist Bianca Butler, violinist Christopher Williams, and percussionist Ian “Skinny” Salazar (Closebye), elevated the project to the Majorette of dreams, or possibly memories.
