Joe Turner

Born and raised in South London, Joe Turner has been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. Growing up in a house filled with Soul music, alongside a dash of 90’s Electronic classics, his taste has always been varied. Inheriting musical talent from his Grandfather - a jazz pianist, Joe wrote his first song when he was just 11 years old.


After touring the UK relentlessly with numerous projects and collaborating with with artists such as Joe Hertz, TSHA, Stella Talpo and Siamaki thus far, Turner decided to peruse his own solo musical adventures. Inspired by the likes of Bonobo, Tourist, SG Lewis, Disclosure and Maribou State, he aims to pay homage to these artists through telling stories within his music, without clichés.


In February 2019 Turner self-released his debut single 'Atmosphere' which was added to key Spotify discovery playlists such as Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds Basement, in addition to gaining support from key UK tastemakers like Tom Ravenscroft (BBC 6 Music), Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1) and Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra); who loved Turner's sound so much she signed him to her own label Future Bounce and in April 2019, released double A-side 'Retina/Stay'. The track reached #1 on HypeMachine charts and continued to pick up solid support, adding new names likes of Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1), Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music, Nemone (BBC 6 Music), Eton Messy and i-D (Best New Music), plus key Spotify playlists such as Ibiza Sunset and Soultronic.
