Brown's tastes were shaped by these masters. His Motown legacy runs deep, thanks to his mother, a former Motown artist, whose determination inspired him to pursue his musical dreams.
While studying at Grambling State University, J. Brown's bold Facebook ad led him to meet two individuals who helped make his solo debut a reality. Although he briefly signed with Universal Republic Records in 2010, releasing "Imma Love You Right" and "Sex On My Money" featuring Gucci Mane, he returned to Detroit to refine his craft. After a decade of honing his skills, he re-emerged with "Sunrise Sunset," which hit #10 on the Billboard Charts. His subsequent hits, like "Give It To You," "Moon," and "Vibe," solidified his presence in the industry.
