Chico Pinheiro

Chico Pinheiro is an outstanding guitarist widely acclaimed for his exquisite sound and remarkable fluidity. He is equally admired as a distinctive composer blending Brazilian, classical, and jazz influences. Chico has received two Grammy Award nominations, both in the Best Latin Jazz Album category, in 2020 and 2021. Today, Chico is regarded as one of the most influential and celebrated Brazilian guitarists in both Brazilian music and jazz. Ed Motta aptly described him as the "Brazilian Wayne Shorter”, highlighting his brilliance not only as a performer but also as a composer. Chico brings his quartet to the Ronnie Scott's stage, with Holger Marjamaa on piano, Mathias Allamane on acoustic bass, and Rogério Pitomba on drums. The quartet presents Chico’s distinctive sound, which encompasses influences from Tom Jobim, Edu Lobo, Baden Powell, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso to Wayne Shorter, Steely Dan, Coltrane, Chopin, and Debussy.
