Helsinki Lambda Club Biography

Formed in the summer of 2013, Helsinki Lambda Club is a Japanese alternative rock band led
by vocalist Kaoru Hashimoto, whose musical roots go deep into 70's rock all the way to modern
indie pop, resulting in a concoction of music that encompasses the attitude of garage punk, as
well as the spirit of new wave and psychedelic. With highly addictive melodies, playful lyrics and
experimental soundscapes that can morph from sunny surf rock into full on psychedelia on the
next track, their music transcends borders of genre and culture.
In 2019, they rocked stages at the SHOUTOUT'19 FESTIVAL in Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan,
and performed on two stages at Japan's prestigious FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2022. Last year,
they took part in Hong Kong's "ALL EARS ASIA" showcase, Singapore’s "AXEAN Festival," and
Taiwan’s "KUMA TRIBE" festival. They toured China with Young Dan, performing at the peak of
their popularity, and graced the "ASAGIRI JAM" near Mount Fuji in Japan. After their acclaimed
performance at SXSW in Austin, US, they embarked on their first UK tour in May, including a
performance at The Great Escape, which concluded with great success.
