False Fate Biography

In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, early 2009, Lawson Watkins (Vocals/Guitar) formed the band False Fate alongside his cousin, Blayne Watkins (Drums) and high school friend Josh Hawkins (Bass). After receiving first place at a local talent show, False Fate moved on to re-occurring performances, headlining the West Alabama State Fair hosted by United Cerebral Palsy (UCP). In the meantime, they took second place at Fuse TV’s Battle of the Bands hosted by Slave to the Metal hostess, Mistress Juliya Chernetsky. Late 2011, mutual friends would bring False Fate together with Kevin Bronner who, soon after that, joined False Fate as Lead Guitarist. Shortly following, Blayne parted ways with the group and was succeeded by drummer, Jordan Wilkinson. Wilkinson brought his talents to the band for many shows and a few early demo recordings before saying his own goodbyes only a year later and passing the torch to fellow musician Kyle Morrison who had frequently played shows with False Fate in his previous band, Paper Sky Theory. In the early months of 2013, bassist Josh Hawkins would take his leave in pursuit of other interests as the band invited Kyle’s older brother, Cameron Morrison (also formerly of Paper Sky Theory) to take his place just in time for an upcoming show as a supporting act for ex-Three Days Grace vocalist, Adam Gontier. Now, stronger as a unit and having more freedom and creative determination than ever, False Fate is ready to hit the music scene with full momentum, a passionate spin on hard rock music, and an excitingly driven live show. Current members, as of Oct. 2013, include: Lawson Watkins- Lead Vocals/Guitar Kevin Bronner- Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals Cameron Morrison- Bass Kyle Morrison- Drums False Fate writes all their own songs.
