Safari Biography
Safari is a Norwegian gospel/soul-group founded in Oslo, Norway 1997. The group consists of twelve excellent singers/soloists, many of which are working full-time with music; both as freelance singers and as individual artists.
Safaris musical style varies from contemporary gospel to traditional, old-school gospel, praise and worship and beautiful, touching ballads. Most of Safari’s repertoire consists of self-composed material, mostly written by Safaris founder and musical director, Eirik Kaasa.
During over 25 active years, Safari has performed on many different stages and events in Norway and abroad, performed at several large gospel and jazz festivals and also toured and performed with gospel artists like Kirk Franklin and Myron Butler. They are often to be seen in popular TV shows like, Dancing with the stars, The Voice, Idol, etc.
Safari has also participated in a number of CD recordings in Norway, Sweden and the US and has, among other things. visited the legendary Billboard list as a guest choir with the American gospel artist Isaac Carree.
Safari has released three studio albums ("Thank You" 2009, "I Still Need You" 2015 and "Moving Forward" 2024) and also released the Christmas song "No Fairy Tale, No Story" in 2016, which i.a. achieved radio play in several cities in the United States.
