This string quartet, plus double bass and percussionist, plays Bach just as easily as music by Bryce Dessner, a member of the indie-rock band The National. In the Thursday Evening Series, Fuse performs with the groundbreaking mandolin player Avi Avital: ‘a musician who recognises no boundaries except those of good taste,’ according to the influential English music magazine Gramophone. This concert is all about improvisation, virtuosity and adventure.
