Join us for an online Breastfeeding Support Class that meets your Mama Glow Doula Professional Training Program - Level 1 Breastfeeding Certification Requirement. This course will be led by Mama Glow Doula Mentor and Certified Lactation Counselor  Ebonie "Karma" Tudor. During this 2-Hour educational webinar, we will explore breastfeeding techniques and you will be provided with information to adequately support your clients along their lactation journey. This session counts towards your Mama Glow Doula Certification Breastfeeding Course requirement. As a Doula who is supporting clients immediately after birth, it is important to establish a feeding routine and support new families along their feeding journey. You will learn the anatomy of the breast/chest and the hormones that assist with breast milk synthesis and production. Whether its the first latch after birth, navigating engorgement, various positions for feeding, and you learn how to know if the baby is getting enough food, etc. You will learn about the importance of delaying newborn procedures if in hospital settings to assist with the ability to obtain a successful first latch. You will also learn how to navigate special situations and options for when a client is not comfortable or able to feed their newborn.If there are challenges that arise during breastfeeding/chestfeeding you will learn the best way to observe your client's feeding session to assist and provide resources if and when they are needed. What you can expect to learn: Breastfeeding anatomy  What constitutes a good latch How partners or loved ones can assist with feedings How to determine if the baby getting enough milk Breastfeeding/chestfeeding tools and how are they used When to start pumping to build a supply Course Details: Registered students for the course you will receive connection details for the online session 1 hour before the course begins.  Once you complete the course you can submit your course receipt and we will track your attendance for certification purposes.
