Mr. Slow Flow aka Evidence is coming. Being a 1/3 of Dilated Peoples is something that cannot be ignored, but the truth is that EV’s career is just as substantial, if not more so, as a solo artist. A native and practically a symbol of the West Coast, Evidence is probably the rapper from Los Angeles with the most East Coast-style style. In the early 2000s, this was rare and naturally opened space for a sound that was unknown until then in California. Rakaa, DJ Babu and Evidence gave us 6 classic albums as Dilated Peoples. That’s facts! But the truth is that EV is responsible for “The Weatherman LP”, “The Layover EP”, “Cats & Dogs”, “Weather or Not” and “Unlearning Vol. 1” all by himself. Thank God we can have it all. Being part of a group or taking full control of everything in a solo career are completely different things. The truth is that after Mr. Slow Flow… things done changed! An out-of-this-world pen game and an ear on point with tailor-made beats. Whether with an ASR-10 or an Akai 2500, Evidence is also a standout producer. Red, Purple, Green… there are several colors of tapes that attest to the quality of his beats. His discography is long, but even so, he had time to make a collaborative album with Alchemist (“Step Brothers - Lord Steppington”) and another with Blu (“Los Angeles”). Both heat! Truth be told, at no point in his career has Evidence stopped being relevant and one of the best at what he does. He don’t write checks, he writes rhymes!
