Rain from Heaven

Rain from Heaven is the ethereal grunge-pop project of NYC-based vocalist and producer Isabel Vazquez. Raised in a musical family in rural upstate New York, Vazquez began her career after saving money and moving to London alone as a teenager. Vazquez has kept an elusive profile while working on her debut album over the past few years, often collaborating behind the scenes as a writer, producer, organizer, or guest vocalist for other artists in the indie underground, and steadily playing shows in Canada, Greece, the U.K., New York, and Germany. Her recent vocal contributions to Bristol experimental club producer Mun Sing’s Inflatable Gravestone record include the track “Spider”, which has become a recognizable staple of Björk’s DJ sets.

Rain from Heaven’s upcoming debut album petra-coeur, set for release May 2, 2025, brings listeners into a vast liminal dreamspace between genres, one that is both pulsing with mystery and strangely familiar. Weaving together lush tapestries of guitar, gently danceable electro-acoustic beats, and warm ambient soundscapes, petra-coeur shimmers around Vazquez’s singularly nimble and yearning vocals, anchored all the while by an earthy post-grunge undercurrent.
