About this concert
Doors 7PM / Show 8PM Seated Show Steve Forbert is a true American musical treasure, underscored by his new album, Daylight Savings Time. Like all his albums, it's saturated with what venerated rock journalist Robert Christgau discerned as his "omnivorously observant" songwriting, marked by Steve's gift for finding the more profound meaning and magic within everyday moments, as well as his abundant melodic and poetic enchantment. Peter Holsapple is touring in support of his new solo album, The Face of 68. It reflects on age, humor and hurt, with his usual high-quality wordplay and legendary gifts for melody and harmony. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, Peter’s record is an enduring testament to his striking abilities as musician and songwriter (The dB’s, Continental Drifters, Holsapple & Stamey).

Peter Holsapple Biography

The Face of 68 is a fresh new sound for Peter Holsapple.
With a couple of years playing lead guitar with The Paranoid Style under his belt, he’s renewed his rock roots. The Face of 68 is a high performance album that accentuates Holsapple’s stylish guitar work alongside the established excellence of his songwriting.
You may know him from The dB’s or Continental Drifters, bands he co-helmed over the course of influential albums like Stands for deciBels and Vermilion, or his duo records with Chris Stamey like Mavericks. You may know him from his work on the road and in the studio with R.E.M. and Hootie. Or via artists like Marti Jones, the Golden Palominos, the Troggs and Foster and Lloyd, who have all covered his songs.
This is different. The songwriting is decidedly harder-edged than the fine-tuned power pop Peter is associated with, and yet he still never loses his way with a melody.
