MOVIMIENTO is a global event series spotlighting BIPOC, femme, and queer DJs—focused on creating a sexy, inclusive dance party for everyone to enjoy. ABOUT THE ARTISTS :: Karo is a Mexican-American DJ whose sound is shaped by diverse influences, ranging from Latin club, reggaeton, baile funk, and guaracha to techno and hard groove. She holds a monthly residency on Austin-based Shared Frequencies Radio, where she hosts a show dedicated to her event series MOVIMIENTO every second Thursday of the month. -- Salem X is a Chilean queer immigrant based in BK, part of the Haus of Telfar. They explore and share their vision through music and art, blending techno, Voguin beats, dembow, Latin club, and reggaeton. Their sound is shaped by their lived experience. They also host a mini rave “Encuerate” carried by sounds from Queer BIPOC of immigrant experience, a space to move freely, shed inhibitions, and lose yourself in the music. -- Sodomahigomorra is a dj and multidisciplinary artist from Abya Yala, their sounds incorporate different rhythms from beyond the border. Former resident dj from Chaos Computer, current resident dj from T4Tuesdays by Voluminous arts and HOLE VISION at The Lot Radio. Their music is sexy, ass throwy and bimbo.
