This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my concert addicted life! After all the years of mediocre opening acts, this band takes the stage and sets the bar SO high for the rest of the night. Showing up early for a show has never felt so rewarding! I have been to so many shows to see the opening acts and only end up in utter disappointment on many occasions, and this was definitely not one of them! I can’t wait until this band is headlining a sold out show, because I know how intense and how tight the performance is gonna be. Not only did I get to experience one of the best up and coming thrash bands keeping that 80’s sound alive and well, I got to meet some of the members and ask some questions and have a “Broment” in the name of Metal. These guys are so friendly, fun, approachable and very professional! The performance was absolutely flawless, although I don’t yet own their records, which were sold out before they got to Toronto [mange la marde Montréal!] I have heard a lot of their material online after discovering them by accident with YouTube. I can tell you without a doubt, they sound as great if not better live and they do not fail to impress with showmanship. Have you ever watched 2 guitarists play a solo the other’s guitar at the same time? Yes! This actually happened and it was without fail! Honestly, this is exactly why I show up early to shows when I can, because there ARE bands who take what they do seriously, and who really do want to give it all they got to give their fans the experience they deserve. Another cool memory of this whole show is when Dark Angel did a song for the members of Void, and the band came out into the pit and started pushing each other around (like legit shoving each other like “IT’S ON! LET’S GO!!!”) and trying to start up a pit with members of Hirax in the area where Slaughter were watching the show; Watching Void in the crowd head banging and pushing each other like maniacs to the track they had dedicated to them, made me see how serious they really are about metal and how much they love it and live it. They’re the REAL deal! Fellas, if you’re reading this, I STILL want signed records! Peu importe ce que ça coûte, je le paierai! 🤟🏼

About Void

Formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2019 by lead singer Jackson Davenport, Void is a powerhouse five-piece thrash metal band. Void has been tearing up the Gulf Coast, quickly gaining local and national attention. Void is one of the only young thrash bands emerging from the Louisiana metal scene and has cemented their spot in the southern metal scene with their unrelenting sonic assault. After a brief tour in the southern United States in October 2022, they went into the recording studio to make their debut album during the winter of 2022/2023. The band's debut album 'Horrors of Reality' was released upon the world of metal in February, 2023. During the summer of 2023, Void did a tour of the south in promotion of their album, deemed the 'Haunted Madness' tour and released their follow up single to their debut album "Silent Onslaught" on Halloween of 2023. After touring throughout 2024, the band is back with a new, more aggressive, and more mature sound.
