Red by Night

Red by Night, are a 4-piece Rock band. The Band was founded in the once heavily industrialized districts of Birmingham and the Black Country, their name comes from the depiction of the area by the American Consul to Birmingham, Elihu Burritt. Who famously described the region as “black by day and red by night, due to the same furnaces that clouded the sky black with smoke during daylight hours burned bright red as darkness fell.
Following the band’s inception in the Spring of 2022, the band has grown from the founding members Joseph Sheppard (Guitars & Lead Vocals) and Theo Hubbard (Guitars & Vocals). Initially honing their craft at local open mic nights, the band has progressed in short time to headlining festivals across the West Midlands and Shropshire and packing out iconic venues such as the O2 Academy and O2 Institute in Birmingham as well as renowned venues like Albert’s Shed in Shropshire, River Rooms in Stourbridge and the iconic Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
The Summer of 2024 saw the establishment of the settled line up incorporating the dynamic and propulsive Rhythm section of Oliver Morrough (Drums & Percussion) and Emerson Harris (Bass Guitars & Bass Synth).
Strongly influenced by the founding fathers of Rock and Metal from the Midlands, Red by Night are the 21st Century incarnation carrying the torch for Rock n’ Roll for the future generations.
