Immanuel Wilkins has not been an insider’s tip for a long time. He first attracted international attention five years ago when his debut album »Omega« was selected by the »New York Times« straight away as the »Jazz Album of 2020« – the saxophonist and composer from Philadelphia was then just 22 years old. Two years later, he presented himself with his quartet in the Elbphilharmonie »Fast Lane« series; most recently, he delighted the Hamburg audience in November 2023 at the »Reflektor«-Festival curated by guitarist Bill Frisell. Meanwhile, Wilkens has released his third album, which he now, once again with his quartet, presents at the Elbphilharmonie.
