About this concert
FriendZone NYC returns this Memorial Day Weekend, official after party Saturday to Sunday afternoon May 24–25.
It’s been a minute, but we haven’t been sleeping. After a long break and ahead of our grand opening in June, we’re back with something special for the real ones.
This isn’t a comeback it’s a continuation. We’ve teamed up with our friends Zion to throw an extended afterparty in a never-before-used location deep in Brooklyn. Indoor and outdoor space,
brand new energy, and a fully loaded Hennessy sound system to shake the city awake. We’re bringing in a deep lineup of selectors ready to take you on a proper journey—no frills, just real music and movement from nightfall straight through sunrise.
The vibe? Unfiltered. The crowd? Family. No pressure, no pretense—just a gathering of heads who know what time it is. Come as you are, move how you feel, and get lost with us in the sound.
We’ve missed this, and we’ve missed you. Let’s dance again. FriendZone NYC, Memorial Day Weekend. Let’s press play. 🫶

The Mekanism Biography
The Mekanism aka Damien Roussel continues adding to the rich history of fine House Music emerging from Paris. As a DJ for over ten years, he brings a fresh approach with a skillful and experienced touch, wooing crowds worldwide with this energy and passion behind the decks. A true DJ through and through, he plays only vinyl out, in fact such is his passion for vinyl, Rinse France have given him his own monthly vinyl only show on the station, starting in late 2014.
Championing a tech house sound with a Chicago feel, The Mekanism’s inventive Dj sets are now moving dance floors from South Africa to Sao Paolo and heading into 2015 he will find himself crisscrossing just about every continent on the globe.
Then, back home in Europe, there is The Mekanism, the resident DJ. Never is there more a testament to a DJ’s consistency than a sort after club at the core. When he returned from summer 2014, he had a major Ibiza residency under his belt with his regular slot at Ushuaia’s underground house and techno party, Antz. Back in his hometown of Paris, having previously been resident at the Social Club, where he featured on Boiler Room, he’s moved on to a regular slot at one of Paris’s most sought after venues, Showcase.
When Damien turns his hand to production, he prefers quality over quantity, limiting his digital releases to tastemaking labels such as Barcelona’s Los Suruba, Berlin’s Exploited and London’s Needwant, where he cut his teeth with his first EP ‘Can’t Believe’ and an equally impressive follow up remix of Mario Basanov’s We Are Child of Love on the same label. Staying true to his love of more underground sounds Damien has a string of vinyl only outputs on labels such as Dikso and his own vinyl only inprint, WORX.
2015 is set to be one of the biggest years yet for The Mekanism, with new original productions, worldwide tours and a brand new label, one thing for sure is The Mekanism is one of House music’s brightest shining lights.
