Carter Brady Biography
If someone were to describe Carter Brady’s signature sound in a nutshell, it might be phrased as such: 90’s nostalgic alternative rock mixed with modern American indie pop, complemented by big guitars and drums, and touching yet equally versatile and interchangeably powerful, raspy vocals. However, it’s clear that the recently cohesive sound Brady has attained in his newest releases and yet-to-be released songs bends genres and touches on a wide variety of emulations of rock from the past 3 decades. Currently posing as a solo artist, Brady writes all of the music and records all or mostly all of the instruments on each of his songs. Now playing live with a band under his name and having headlined NYC venues like Mercury Lounge getting crowds as big as 150 people, he looks to share his new jack-of-all-trades rock album ‘Shopping Cart’ with the music world and make his presence in the scene known.
With a handful of music videos and 1st studio LP ‘Blue Reverb’ (mixed and mastered by GRAMMY-nominated producer Joe DiGiorgi) featured in media outlets like Under the Radar Magazine, Vevo and Music Crowns, Brady’s lead guitar ability paired with his recent growth in songwriting has made him a force to be reckoned with. Carter has received positive feedback from artists like former Foo Fighters Franz Stahl and William Goldsmith (also drummer of Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft), Louise Post of Veruca Salt, Joey Pecoraro and Quinn Sullivan, and has worked with Nirvana In Utero touring cellist Lori Goldston, Mark White of Spin Doctors, Jon Cobert (played in John Lennon's last solo band), Antonio Ciacca, Steve Watson, Peter Press, Mark Sidgwick, and many others.
