Jared Herzog

Jared Herzog first found his love for music standing on the church altar steps singing as a curly haired, freckled faced small child while his mother directed the children’s choir. Music has always been a constant and foundational part of Jared’s life. The three-chair-turning artist made his national debut on NBC’s The Voice in 2019, and chose John Legend to guide him as his coach on the season 17 journey.

As an emerging singer-songwriter, Jared’s passion lies in creating music late-night in the recording studio, honing in on his artistic neo-soul style, and then sharing it with the world. "Jared, you have this range that is pretty amazing and anytime you hit a big note it is like projected to mars," said Kelly Clarkson, coach on NBC’s The Voice, after his performance on the show.

Dedicated to his craft, Jared has spent many years in professional vocal training, as well as guitar. He sang in his high school choir, where he competed at the state level four years in a row, and made the elite singing troupe, Opus, his sophomore year. Following in his family footsteps, he led praise and worship at his church throughout high school, and continued while attending college at Lee University as a campus worship leader. Jared has always felt called to use his God-given talents to move, inspire, and share the love of Jesus with others.

The former college track and cross country team captain walk-on attributes his leadership and discipline qualities to his time playing sports, mentioning his athletic background has a lot to do with his approach in writing and performing music.

In 2020, Jared graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing from Lee University in Tennessee. He currently performs regularly at the Old Florida Fish House on the world’s most beautiful beaches in the Florida panhandle. He also performs for corporate and private gigs.

"You take the whole audience on a journey and that's what a performance is all about," said John Legend. “Many artists talk about how it feels when they connect with an audience, Jared knows only the joy of connectivity.”
