Co-written by Kit and Craig, the lyrics were reworked multiple times, with Craig making major changes even during the final vocal recording session. “It nearly gave me a heart attack,” Kit jokes, “but he completely nailed it.” Touching on themes of loss, hope, and finding connection in dark times, the song draws inspiration from both band members’ experiences with grief and their hopes for the next generation.
